| What was your first job?
My very first job was at age 14, summer part-time doing administrative tasks for the Army Corp of Engineers. My first pay check, I put it towards my college fund.
How and when did you get into the adult industry?
I have been in this industry for 15 years. It all started when I posted a picture of myself on a photography forum as a dare. The next day I had about 20 emails of wanting to hire me for a shoot.
How did you come up with your stage name?
Stage name? Don’t we all use our real name? lol
How do your friends and family feel about your decision to be an adult model?
My friends and parents are very supportive. Unfortunately some of my family members due to their religious beliefs no longer speak with me. Ask me if I care? They are not the ones paying my bills and having a great time being in the entertainment business.
What does it take to make it in a tough industry like the adult business? What important lessons have you learned so far?
Very important, be professional and be on time. I always try to put my best foot forward and before confirming any bookings, I make sure what the shoot entails. If it is beyond my comfort zone, I politely decline. Time is money and I hate to waste other people’s time.
Is there anybody special in your life? Or are you looking for somebody at the moment? If so, what do you look for?
I have several who are very dear to me and one in particular. We shall see what the future holds until then while I have my looks and youth, I’m very focused on my business.
If you had not joined the adult industry, what do you think you would be doing now?
I would still be doing software consulting.
Do you get recognized in real life? Any funny stories?
Yes. They always stare and I prefer people just come up to me and say hello. Especially at the gym. I had one of my fan taking a kickboxing class with me until I tore my meniscus, no more boxing.
Do you prefer video or photo shoots?
I like both but because I do have some acting skills, maybe video a little more.
Where is the most exotic location you have shot at?
Petit St. Vincent, a small private island in the Caribbean. It was absolutely amazing.
What are your favorite and least favorite parts of your body?
None. I’m too critical of myself although I get many compliments for my curves as an Asian woman, the ass and legs.
Who is your favorite adult star (past or present)?
Currently, Brandi Love. She is absolutely amazing and so sweet and sincere. Love her.
What is your favorite sex toy?
Does Hitachi Wand count as a sex toy? Lol
Do you exercise on a regular basis? What kind?
Yes I do. I work out minimum 3 times a week. If I am not too busy, would love to get at least 5 days out of the week. My training consists of weight training, cardio and pilates.
Where did you go on your last vacation (not work related)?
That never happens. All my travels are work related. Got to right off some of the expenses lol. Although I almost forgot, Cabo, Mexico last December.
Do you have any pets?
Yes, I have two dogs that I rescued from a shelter. The female is a Pitbull/Lab mix and the male is Lab/German Shepherd mix. They are my babies.
What is the last book you read?
Art of War by Sun Tzu
Do you have a guilty pleasure TV show? Song?
Don’t cringe but I watch all the Real Housewives series. Those ladies are nuttier than me.
What is your dream car?
Porsche 918 Spyder
What is your favorite alcoholic beverage?
Right now I am on a vodka diet but I usually like to drink tequila or a single malt scotch.
What are your favorite brands of jeans? Shoes?
I am not picky on brands of jeans since I have a difficult time finding that fits my booty. As for shoes, of course every girl loves, Christian Louboutin.
Do you have a hobby that would surprise most people?
I think all my fans know that I really enjoy cooking. I think my next call in life, I’ll be a Culinary Chef.
What is something about you that not too many people know?
I’m pretty honest and straight forward so there are not too many things people don’t know. However some of my friends call me the “Asian Pitbull.”
Do you have any special talents?
I can play the piano and the flute. Also hula and Japanese folklore dances.
What's your ordinary day like? A day in the life of Akira Lane...
It’s never the same but always on the go whether driving to my shoots, doing errands, teaching pilates, working-out the gym, tweeting etc.
