Shae Summers was only added to interobus.ru yesterday and we could just tell with one look that Shae will be very big in the adult industry. | What was your first job?
My mother had me at a young age, so due to lack of funds (and wanting to spend time with me), she needed to find something where I could tag along. When I was four, she started a lucrative position as a manager for apartment rentals. From the time she started that job, I also actually started my first job. I learned to do whatever needed to be done. My job description was everything from bookkeeping, to collecting rent, to sales, to cleaning, and to smaller things like filling candy machines, etc. I grew up learning many business tactics, and appreciated every penny I earned. At four years old I was already bringing home my own (little) pay check, and nothing has changed since then. I must admit that it took away from a normal childhood, but looking back, I wouldn't have wanted it to be any other way.
How and when did you get into the adult industry?
I traveled to South Florida in August of 2013 for a vacation with a friend of mine who had just joined the industry. I fell in love with the area, and stayed, leaving the rest of my life behind. Shortly after, I was introduced to the industry, and was immediately offered a contract with Reality Kings before my career even began. In September I shyly accepted the contract. But all I can say is that I'm not exactly shy anymore!
How did you come up with your stage name?
Originally I was really set on using my real name, but everyone advised against it, and I listened. I threw around different names with agents and friends, and Shae came to the surface. I didn't like it at first simply because I didn't feel it suited me. Then I realized - thats the point! Shae became my creative outlet for me to express the parts of me that were currently hidden away and neglected. Surprisingly, I really liked the way I viewed myself as 'Shae.' It helped me grow on a personal level because of how freeing it was knowing that my possibilities as a person were endless, and that I don't have to stick to one path. Summers felt right as it reminds me of myself. Thus I became The Shae Summers.
How do your friends and family feel about your decision to be an adult model?
My mother, and a few close friends weren't surprised by my decision because I've always taken interest in being part of the adult business (just not necessarily porn). Some people in my family were worried and tried to get me out of it, but I told them that they needn't worry. I was (and still) happy, and thats all that matters. Not all of my friends and family may like it, but they support me, nonetheless.
What does it take to make it in a tough industry like the adult business? What important lessons have you learned so far?
My advice: don't get get sucked into that life, or let it go too far. Its important to stay balanced between business and personal. You will also have people gaga for you all the time, but you have to remember that at the end of the day, none of those people are there. So you can't forget about the people that matter, because this business gets lonely and you're going to need people to lean on that truly care for you. Basically, stay true to yourself and don't forget or lose sight of who you were before you joined the industry.
Is there anybody special in your life? Or are you looking for somebody at the moment? If so, what do you look for?
I've just recently let a lover go because I'm finding it hard to juggle both a relationship with a "civilian", and a porn career. I'm not looking for anyone, but wouldn't necessarily avoid it. I'm still figuring out which gender I prefer - so its hard to say what I'm looking for! (:
If you had not joined the adult industry, what do you think you would be doing now?
I would still be in college, and practicing Reflexology.
Do you get recognized in real life? Any funny stories?
So far I've only been recognized one time! It was at the local airport before I even had any scenes released. He was a viewer of mine on (a cam site that I'm on).
Do you prefer video or photo shoots?
Hmmm.. I'd have to say video.
What are your favorite and least favorite parts of your body?
There is always room for improvement when it comes to everyone. I must say I love my boobs! After all, they are what brings my paycheck (and your attention)!
Who is your favorite adult star (past or present)?
Honestly, I've never been into watching porn, so besides Christy Mack and Sasha Grey, I only know people I've worked with. My favourite person that I've worked with is Abigail Mac, which I often refer to as my "porn crush."
What is your favorite sex toy?
Do hand cuffs count? Thats more my route.
Do you exercise on a regular basis? What kind?
Generally I take barre, yoga, and pole dancing classes but I've been traveling none stop for the past few months. I cycle quite often for 20+ miles at a time - you have to love living by the beach!
Where did you go on your last vacation (not work related)?
My last trip was to NYC for Christmas. Since I moved to Florida, I find that I've been traveling to colder climates quite often because I miss the season change.
Do you have any pets?
I have a boxer pit-bull mix named Sully (he really is a big lovable monster!), and a kitty named Holland. Unfortunately, my spontaneous move to Florida didn't allow me to bring them, so they currently reside with my ex up North.
What is the last book you read?
The last book I finished was Fifty Shades of Grey. I haven't had much time for reading recently, but I'm currently indulged in the book Unveiled: The Hidden Lives of Nuns. Don't judge.
Do you have a guilty pleasure TV show? Song?
Some of my favorite TV shows are Weeds, Breaking Bad, White Collar, Desperate Housewives, Orange is the New Black, Fringe... I love all genres of music, except country (although I'm sure there must be a few songs I like). A few of my favorite songs include Happy Pills by Norah Jones, Medicated by Wiz Khalifa, Cosmic Love by Florence and the Machine, Valerie by Amy Winehouse, Creep by Radiohead, What Now by Rihanna, and I could go on and on and on and on. I like everything from The Black Keys, to Lil Wayne, to Frank Sinatra, to Metallica, to Ray LaMontagne. I'm not kidding when I say I love practically everything under the sun!
What is your dream car?
Dream car? Well, I tend to be very realistic, and am planning on buying a Fiat 500 within the next few months. Not exactly a dream car, but its all I need.
What is your favorite alcoholic beverage?
My favorite drink is from a place in DC called CoCo Sala. The drink is called The Fetish, and it literally tastes like chocolate covered strawberries. A lot of my go to drinks are champagne, corona and lime, greyhound, and cape codder.
What are your favorite brands of jeans? Shoes?
My favorite jean brand is Rich and Skinny. Shoes? Hell, I can't pick just one brand. But I can say that my shoe collection, and wardrobe in general would make your jaw drop. I kind of like to buy new things...
