| What was your first job?
My 1st job was working at Nordstrom a retail store & I worked as a clerical in the office & have also worked as an assistant buyer in 1 of the departments .
How and when did you get into the adult industry?
I did some modeling while I was working at Nordstrom then I had an opportunity to shoot with a few top magazine companies in the adult industry & I took that chance.
How did you come up with your stage name?
I liked the name Charmane for the longest time, I also had an old friend that was named Charmaine & then I added star because it just sounded right with the name.
How do your friends and family feel about your decision to be an adult model?
My friends & family have been supportive through the years I've been in the adult industry, they know me & see my life & I am obviously taking care of myself very well & found my confidence & independence with this industry, & which is why they respect my decision & are very close with me. When I am not shooting or doing an appearance, I am not Charmane but the person they know & grew with.
What does it take to make it in a tough industry like the adult business? What important lessons have you learned so far?
When I started it was completely different from the way it is today, I am not saying it wasn't hard. It was hard & also to be respected & appreciated. I knew what I wanted & the limits I set myself to do..I have maintained a good & steady career (10+) because I made the choices myself & I still have my fans & companies that love working with me.
What I've learned is to adapt to the way the business is & where it's going. I have built other means of networking through websites, Feature Dancing, Cub appearances & conventions, also through mainstream...
Is there anybody special in your life? Or are you looking for somebody at the moment? If so, what do you look for?
There is someone special in my life, I was in a relationship for a while, but I am not really looking for anyone at the moment but my eyes are open.
If you had not joined the adult industry, what do you think you would be doing now?
I would probably still be working at Nordstrom & have moved into management position & probably would go to a Fine Art School & do theater...Or have 3 kids by now living in the burbs & going to my kids basketball practice LOL
Do you get recognized in real life? Any funny stories?
I have been recognized quite a few times & 1 time I was with my mom & aunt at The Grove here in LA it's an outdoor shopping mall & we were by the fountain taking pics & asked this gentleman with his daughter, if he didn't mind if he can take a picture of us & so he did & then he asked my mother if she can take a picture of him & I & we thought it was weird, & then I realized he recognized me & after we took the picture he told me "I am a big fan & love your work." My mom & aunt heard the whole thing & we just laughed.
Do you prefer video or photo shoots?
I like both, I know the differences & like the experience in both.
Where is the most exotic location you have shot at?
It would probably have to be at the Beach. I have shot at a few places but I like the ocean & sand plus I can get a really good tan in the meantime.
What are your favorite and least favorite parts of your body?
My Fav would have to be my body inside & out & my least Fav would have to be my belly, I am constantly doing sit-ups to get the perfect abs!
Who is your favorite adult star (past or present)?
I don't have a Fav, I have some friends in the business .
What is your favorite sex toy?
I am a simple girl, a vibrator all the way.
Do you exercise on a regular basis? What kind?
Yes, I work out almost every day. I do 30min cardio 200sit-ups I doom weights for my back & arms. It's about a 1 1/2 hour gym time & 20min sauna.
Where did you go on your last vacation (not work related)?
I was in Hawaii earlier this year I stayed an extra 3 days after I did a show there & did absolutely nothing & just ate & sun bathed.
Do you have any pets?
I have a beautiful dog named Astrid & she is 10 years old now Lab/Chow mix.
What is the last book you read?
My friend gave me her book as a birthday gift "I was a teenage Dominatrix" by Shawna Kenny ~ Good read.
Do you have a guilty pleasure TV show? Song?
I love watching Jimmy Fallon, Cobert & Daily Show w/ Jon Stewart.
What is your dream car?
My dream car would have to be a Ferrari convertible.
What is your favorite alcoholic beverage?
I Love wine ~ Sauvignon Blanc
What are your favorite brands of jeans? Shoes?
I Love shopping at Nordstrom & they have my Fav shoes there, but if I had a choice it would be Christian Louboutin shoes.
Do you have a hobby that would surprise most people?
I Love to surf & paddle board.
What is something about you that not too many people know?
I am a loyal friend.
Do you have any special talents?
I can burp on command.
What's your ordinary day like? A day in the life of Charmane Star...
I wake up, walk & feed my dog, work out, make calls & work on the computer, eat & watch tv, feed the dog again & watch movies & go to bed.
