| What was your first job?
My first job was as a courtesy clerk for Von’s grocery store. I bagged a lot of groceries that summer and the pay was horrible! I believe I made $4.35 an hour.
How and when did you get into the adult industry?
I entered the adult industry in April of 2009 after a stint as an exotic dancer at Gold Club in San Francisco, CA for the previous six months. During my dancing career I fell in love with the people who did adult work. I feel especially fortunate to have experienced life as a dancer in San Francisco, as it was a truly eye opening experience that really changed my view of the world.
If you had not joined the adult industry, what do you think you would be doing now?
I joined the adult industry during what was supposed to be a one-year temporary hiatus from college (which I recently returned to after what became a five year break instead). If it wasn’t for the adult industry I don’t really know what would have become of me. I have always felt a draw towards this industry and it has changed my view of the world and the people in it. I grew up in a very sheltered and conservative area, yet I was always a very sexual person. I feel that working in this industry was always something I was meant to do and I cannot imagine life any other way.
Do you get recognized in real life? Any funny stories?
I make a point to keep my appearance vey natural, at least to the tune of a certain moderation (hopefully). I have been recognized a few times when going out with friends in the industry, but never alone. One of my closest friends, Kerry Louise, and I used to go out dancing and would often get recognized as a pair. I wish I had a funny story, but what I find most humorous is how much I blend in. During a brief hiatus I took from the adult industry in 2011, I was dancing full-time at both a gentlemen’s club in San Francisco and Dallas… and I wasn’t recognized one single time.
Do you prefer video or photo shoots?
Video and photo shoots are unique in their own way and come with their own set of pros and cons. I love performing and video is really the meat of the adult industry. A photo shoot can be very tedious in comparison. However, for the sake of personal vanity, I love those photo shoots where you walk away with a truly interesting photograph of yourself that you end up loving (the profile image I use for my Twitter account, which was shot by HausofSe7en, is a great example of this).
What are your favorite and least favorite parts of your body?
My legs are my favorite part of my body. I am 5’8” and blessed with practically disproportionate legs that make me look even taller. It’s the best of both worlds and I love to wear really tall, sexy heels to accentuate them.
My least favorite part of my body is my old tattoos that were on my hips (they were nautical stars). I don’t know why I ever did that. I have been getting laser tattoo removal for the last year and have two sessions left as of this interview, however, you won’t see them in any of my new scenes because they are faded enough to just cover for shoots.
Who is your favorite adult star (past or present)?
This is a really difficult question to answer, as there are some truly amazing women in this industry. I think Dana DeArmond and Phoenix Marie are two of the wittiest adult stars. Dana has this special sense of sarcastic humor that somehow skirts around the edge of ever being too dark and just comes off really funny and Phoenix has a heart of pure gold.
What is your favorite sex toy?
My Hitachi, I’m a purist.
Do you exercise on a regular basis? What kind?
I am a health food freak! I drink water spiked with liquid chlorophyll throughout the day. I make homemade organic, vegan chili spiked with quinoa just because the fresh vegetables weren’t good enough. My favorite kitchen appliance is a Citrus Express so I can start each day with fresh, organic grapefruit. But exercise…. Is not a regular part of my life. I am lucky to have amazing genetics. I stay in shape through a combination of sexing my little heart out every time I’m on set and riding horses or doing yoga.
Where did you go on your last vacation (not work related)?
Last August I visited the North Shore in Hawaii for a week. It was absolutely amazing. There was a litter of kittens that played on the patio of our cottage and 25 yards beyond was a beach where turtles beached themselves throughout the day. I like an “active” vacation, so we rented bikes and rode them through the little surfer towns. I snorkeled for the first time at a “Shark’s Cove” which was breathtaking. I’m completely hooked on snorkeling and can’t wait to go again.
Do you have any pets?
To know me is to know Sebastian, my sphinx. I am in love with the little fucker. He sleeps with his arms wrapped around my neck and sucks on my cheek. He occasionally drools during this. I haven’t had any privacy since I brought him home and he paws me through my shower curtain. I probably (definitely) post more photos of him on my Twitter account then I do of myself. I have convinced myself that people like these better than photos of my breasts and somehow rationalize this because he is hairless, and therefore naked, and that is close enough... even though I know it isn’t and occasionally post explicit images of myself purely out of guilt and as reparation for indulging me.
What is the last book you read?
I just took an English Literature class and we studied Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. The central themes of the novel were elaborated upon when we read Faust and Milton’s Paradise Lost, but I can’t bring myself to discuss either of those masterpieces yet. There were moments when I wasn’t sure I was going to make it through Faust. Frankenstein, however, was an interesting read right around Halloween. I didn’t realize before being faced with the novel that I had no idea what the plot was even about, and was grateful for the opportunity to be exposed to it.
Do you have a guilty pleasure TV show? Song?
I’ve recently been considering subscribing to cable again. In the interim, I’ve watched a lot of movies and almost no TV. I got roped into the new season of “Dexter” at a friend’s house though… hence, the imminent return to cable.
Musically, I have the same guilt pleasure as you do. You can’t fool me… I know you roll the windows up so you can blast “Call Me Maybe” too. ;)
What is your dream car?
My dream car comes with my dream horse trailer. There is definitely a Sundowner in my future, but I learned to drive on an F-350 dually so I’ll be ready when the time comes. I’m partial to SUV’s, so my dream car would definitely be a Range Rover.
What is your favorite alcoholic beverage?
Growing up in the central valley of Northern California, wine just becomes part of your life. Everyone loves it. One of my favorite things to do is go wine tasting when I visit for the holidays, and I have a sweet spot for dessert wines. I have a bottle of a Late Harvest Durif that I picked up over Thanksgiving that I can’t wait to have again.
What are your favorite brands of jeans? Shoes?
I have incredibly long legs. I’m 5’8”, but my legs make me appear even taller. It’s a blessing and a curse. My legs are one of my favorite parts of my body (my eyes are the other), but buying jeans can be daunting. I finally found a “perfect fit” in Rock and Republic’s a few years ago while jean shopping at a secondhand store on Ventura Blvd (one of my many tricks for finding jeans that fit). Unfortunately, they have since gone out of business so I have been buying them off Ebay and hoarding them in my closet ever since.
I’m a jeans and t-shirt girl and like to keep my shoes pretty basic, as well. I have size 9 feet, so I like a nice tall heel that shoes off my arch. The hands down god of shoes is Christian Louboutin. If I had to wear one pair of shoes for the rest of my life, they’d be my pair of Lady Peeps in black patent leather.
Do you have a hobby that would surprise most people?
I recently surprised myself, and anyone who has followed me for a few years on Twitter would probably be surprised to learn that I love to cook. I was notoriously inept in the kitchen. So I bought a bunch of cookbooks when I realized I wanted to be able to someday cook for my (future) family and had lived off takeout long enough to just be completely over it. Now I find it really relaxing. Even the frustrations that come with learning a new skill are actually pretty rewarding in the end. That satisfied feeling will never come from a delivery guy…. at least not that particular satisfied feeling. ;)
What's your ordinary day like? A day in the life of Tiffany Tyler...
There is no ordinary day. I couldn’t even begin to answer this question beyond saying that every day begins with coffee. Except when it begins with fresh-pressed juice. Even my morning jolt is subject to change. It’s one of the things I love the most about my job. Every day is completely new and exciting. I adapt my routine on a day-to-day basis depending on my shooting schedule.
